Two murder cases under investigation in Pretoria West

Pretoria West police are investigating two separate murder cases after a woman and a man were found dead in separate incidents on Monday and Tuesday.

In the first incident, police were called to a flat in Christoffel Street at about 06:45 on Monday, 14 September.

According to police, officers found the body of a 25-year-old woman lying naked on the floor inside the flat.

She had visible bruises, while police suspect that she had been strangled and raped.

The provincial Crime Scene Management team and other relevant role players attended the scene as investigations got under way.

In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, police received a complaint of murder at about 06:15 in WF Nkomo Street.

A 40-year-old man was found with stab wounds. Paramedics attended the scene and certified him dead.

Crime Scene Management and other role players were also called to the scene.

Police said both victims had been identified and no arrests had been made in either case.

Investigations into both murders are continuing.
