The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has added several serious charges against Limpopo businessman and LADGAC Rehabilitation Centre owner Tsebe Phillimon Moloto, 51.

Moloto appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday after initially facing two counts of malicious damage to property. Following further investigations, the State added charges of arson, five counts of attempted murder and trespassing.

Moloto was previously released on R50,000 bail.

The State alleges that Moloto and the complainant were previously involved in a romantic relationship and business partnership at the Limpopo Anti-Drug, Gangsterism and Crime (LADGAC) Rehabilitation Centre in Seshego.

Following the breakdown of their personal and business relationship, the complainant allegedly established her own rehabilitation centre.

According to the NPA, on 28 June 2026, Moloto allegedly poured a flammable substance onto a Toyota Hilux belonging to the complainant.

The vehicle was parked inside a garage at the complainant’s parental home in Seshego Zone 3 when it allegedly caught fire while several people were inside the house.

The incident resulted in Moloto facing five counts of attempted murder.

In a separate incident, Moloto is also accused of setting alight a signboard advertising the complainant’s new rehabilitation business in Ladanna.

The matter was postponed to 30 October 2026 for the Director of Public Prosecutions to decide on the appropriate forum in which the case should be tried.

The accused remains out on bail.
