Supplier arrested over R16m Emfuleni fleet tender

The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has arrested a 40-year-old supplier in connection with a controversial R16 million fleet tender awarded by the Emfuleni Local Municipality.

The suspect was arrested at a mall in Pretoria this afternoon following an investigation into the tender.

The supplier was contracted to provide the municipality with 18 vehicles, including municipal trucks, but only seven vehicles were ultimately delivered.

The suspect faces charges of corruption, fraud and theft. He is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 September 2026.

His arrest follows the earlier arrest of Emfuleni’s former fleet manager, who is currently out on bail in connection with the same investigation.
