Strong Winds Wreak Havoc on Vaal Electricity Infrastructure

Strong winds and wet weather conditions have caused damage to electricity infrastructure in Evaton and various areas under Emfuleni and neighbouring municipalities.

A transformer has been damaged, while an electricity tower has also fallen due to the severe weather conditions.

Residents are urged to stay away from the fallen tower and other damaged electricity infrastructure, as the equipment may still be energised and pose a serious danger to the public.

Residents living near the affected areas are advised to report the damage to Eskom immediately so that its technical teams can assess the situation and undertake the necessary repairs safely.

Residents are urged not to touch or approach any fallen electrical infrastructure and to keep children away from the affected areas.
