Midvaal records 94.74% performance rate for service delivery

Midvaal Local Municipality has recorded an overall performance rate of 94.74% for the 2025/2026 Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP), achieving 72 of its 76 key performance indicators (KPIs).

The SDBIP is a management and monitoring tool that translates the municipality’s Integrated Development Plan and budget into measurable targets and deliverables.

It allows the Executive Mayor, council, municipal manager, senior management and the community to monitor the municipality’s financial and non-financial performance and hold it accountable for service delivery.

The municipality said the SDBIP also provides an early warning mechanism to identify potential challenges, allowing departments to implement corrective measures where necessary.

The achievement of 72 out of 76 KPIs demonstrates what the municipality described as a strong culture of performance and progress in delivering on commitments made for the financial year.

However, the municipality acknowledged that four KPIs were not fully achieved.

Relevant departments are implementing corrective measures to address the outstanding targets and improve performance.

Executive Mayor Peter Teixeira said the municipality remained committed to efficient management, continuous improvement and ensuring that plans and budgets translate into meaningful results for residents.

The municipality said it would continue monitoring its performance and addressing areas requiring improvement to ensure that service delivery targets remain on track.

The 94.74% performance rate comes as Midvaal continues to invest in infrastructure and service delivery aimed at supporting the municipality’s growing communities and economy.
