Mayor Mako takes service delivery directly to Zone 7 and Smallfarm

Emfuleni Local Municipality’s Mayor’s Service Delivery Fridays continue to bring municipal departments directly into communities to identify, confront and resolve service-delivery challenges where they occur.
The Executive Mayor’s High Impact Service Delivery Programme is aimed at moving beyond simply recording complaints by placing communities at the centre of municipal work and ensuring that outstanding issues are actively pursued towards resolution.
On Friday, municipal teams descended on Zone 7 and Smallfarm, where various departments engaged with residents, assessed service-delivery backlogs and worked on addressing long-standing challenges.
The programme is designed to strengthen cooperation between municipal departments, bring officials closer to residents and improve accountability in the delivery of basic municipal services.
The municipality says the initiative is part of Mayor Hassan Mako’s hands-on approach to addressing service-delivery challenges across Emfuleni.
The weekly interventions seek to ensure that government is brought closer to communities, with officials listening to residents and responding directly to the realities they face.
The municipality says the goal is to make service delivery more visible, responsive and consistent, with each Service Delivery Friday focused on turning reported problems into concrete interventions.
