Man arrested in Tsakane for failing to appear in court

A 28-year-old man wanted for failing to appear in court in connection with five cases has been arrested in Tsakane, Ekurhuleni.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday by Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit officers after they received intelligence about his whereabouts.

Officers operationalised the information and traced the suspect to a location in Tsakane, where he was apprehended.

According to the EMPD, the man was wanted on a warrant of arrest for failing to appear in court in connection with cases including malicious damage to property, two counts of robbery, possession of stolen property, attempted murder and murder.

He was detained at Tembisa police station and is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court soon
