Maj-Gen Feroz Khan re-admitted to Johannesburg hospital ahead of Madlanga Commission appearance

Maj-Gen Feroz Khan has been re-admitted to a Johannesburg hospital nearly two months after he was shot and wounded in Houghton on 28 June, according to senior journalist, Yusuf Abramjee.

Khan was subpoenaed to appear before the Madlanga Commission this week and was recently served with a further Rule 3 notice requiring him to answer additional questions.

The commission had previously led evidence against Khan in his absence after he was unable to testify following the shooting.

Abramjee reported on Sunday that Khan had approached the Labour Court to challenge a disciplinary process by the South African Police Service (SAPS), which could result in his dismissal.

Khan remains a key figure in the commission's investigation into allegations of corruption, criminality and political interference within the criminal justice system.

His readmission to hospital could affect when he is able to appear before the commission and respond to the allegations and questions directed at him.
