Lesufi, Ramokgopa lead transformer switch-on in Tembisa
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa and Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza have switched -
on of three transformers in Tswelopele, Tembisa.
The intervention is part of the Gauteng Energy Response Plan, which aims to strengthen electricity infrastructure and improve the reliability of power supply across communities.
The three transformers have been switched on, restoring electricity to 387 households in Tswelopele. Each transformer supplies 129 homes, providing residents with improved access to a more reliable electricity supply.
The programme includes the maintenance and replacement of ageing transformers, the installation of smart meters and the use of solar power as an additional energy source.
The provincial government says the interventions are aimed at addressing electricity challenges while strengthening the resilience of the power network and improving service delivery to communities across Gauteng.
