Female body found wrapped in duvet in Moroka dam

Police have opened an inquest after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in a dam in Moroka, Soweto.

The body was found wrapped in a duvet at about 17:00 on Sunday, 20 September 2026.

The woman is believed to have been in her twenties.

Police said the circumstances surrounding her death are not known at this stage, and investigations are under way.
