Eskom warns of widespread outages in Gauteng amid bad weather

 Eskom Gauteng is battling a high number of electricity outages across various areas as inclement weather conditions hamper efforts to restore power.

The power utility said its teams are attending to reported outages, with restoration efforts being prioritised to return electricity to affected customers as quickly and safely as possible.

However, Eskom warned that the adverse weather could delay fault-finding, repairs and the restoration of supply in some areas.

“The safety of our employees and the public remains a priority, and certain work may only be undertaken when conditions allow it to be done safely,” Eskom said.

The utility acknowledged the inconvenience caused by prolonged outages and said its teams were working around the clock to restore electricity.

Residents are urged to report outages through Eskom’s official channels and to treat all electrical appliances and infrastructure as live, particularly during power interruptions.

Eskom said it would continue providing updates as restoration work progresses and apologised to customers for the disruption.
