Decomposed body found in Doornkuil

A decomposed body was found in Doornkuil, De Deur, on Monday, 21 September 2026.

According to De Deur SAPS, a passerby spotted the remains and alerted a community leader, who contacted the police.

Police attended the scene and found a badly decomposed body. Due to the condition of the remains, officers could not immediately determine the person’s gender or identity.

An inquest docket has been opened as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

DNA testing will be conducted in an effort to establish the identity of the deceased.
