Lesufi welcomes breakthrough in Dawn Park murder investigation

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has welcomed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the murder of Jabulile Ntimba in Dawn Park, Ekurhuleni.

Lesufi commended the South African Police Service (SAPS) for the progress made in the investigation, saying sustained police work, community cooperation and decisive action were critical in addressing violent crime.

“We welcome the progress made by the investigating team and commend all officers involved in advancing the investigation,” Lesufi said.

He extended condolences to Ntimba’s family and loved ones, and said the provincial government remained committed to ensuring that victims of violent crime received justice.

The Gauteng government also welcomed continued law-enforcement operations under Operation Shanela and Lockdown, particularly in Kempton Park and other parts of Ekurhuleni.

The operations target serious and violent crime and include roadblocks, stop-and-searches, compliance inspections and the arrest of wanted suspects.

Lesufi urged communities to continue cooperating with law enforcement and provide information that could assist investigations.

“We welcome this latest breakthrough and urge communities to continue working with law enforcement by providing information that can assist investigations and bring perpetrators of crime to justice,” he said.
