President Ramaphosa booked off from public engagements

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been booked off from public engagements after falling ill, the Presidency announced on Wednesday.

Ramaphosa returned to South Africa on Monday after attending the BRICS Summit in India.

According to the Presidency, the president’s medical team has advised him to rest and recover.

“Where possible, the President has asked the respective Ministers to represent him at scheduled public engagements,” the Presidency said.

No further details about Ramaphosa’s illness were provided.
