Mofokeng marks starting debut with stunning goal in Belgium

South African youngster Relebohile Mofokeng continued his impressive start to life in Belgium by scoring in Union Saint-Gilloise’s convincing 3-0 victory over Sint-Truiden on Wednesday night.

Mofokeng, making his first start for Union, capped a dominant performance with the team’s third goal in the 63rd minute at Stayen. The 21-year-old finished off a flowing attacking move, calmly placing the ball into the far corner to put the result beyond doubt.

Louis Patris opened the scoring in the first half before Kevin Mac Allister doubled Union’s advantage shortly after the break. Mofokeng then added the final touch to an impressive team performance.

The former Orlando Pirates star was substituted two minutes after scoring, having played a key role in Union’s comfortable victory.

The result kept Union unbeaten in the Belgian Pro League and moved them into second place with 10 points from four matches.
