13-year-old boy accused of raping 10-year-old relative in Limpopo village

Police in Limpopo are investigating a rape case involving a 10-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by her 13-year-old relative in a village under the Mashashane policing area.

The incident was reported to police on Monday, 21 September 2026, after the principal of a local primary school accompanied the girl to the home of a relative.

According to police, the principal told the girl's relative that the child had disclosed that she had been raped by a member of the household where she lives.

The relative questioned the girl, who allegedly identified a 13-year-old boy living in the same house as the person who raped her.

The child was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

The Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit has taken over the investigation.

Police said the 13-year-old suspect had not been arrested as of Wednesday, pending further investigation.
